- Answer validator (configurable OpenRouter model): Checks answers that are missing from the prepared answer list, after aliases and typo matching. It only judges whether the answer is factually correct for the prompt and picks one of the six existing rarity tiers; verdicts are cached and scoring stays on the server.

Players cannot prompt or chat with a model. Questions are not AI-generated.

Answers are validated server-side against prepared entries, with normalization, known aliases and conservative typo correction. Only when no prepared entry matches, a cached AI verdict or a server-side AI check decides whether the answer is factually correct and assigns one of the six existing tiers; failures and ambiguous answers are rejected so the player can retry. Reference answer snapshots may differ from the original game in aliases or subsequent edits. Daily reference synchronization uses public endpoints, caches the snapshot in D1, and falls back to a clearly identified sample question bank when unavailable.

No accounts, multiplayer, themed packs, checkout or cross-device account sync is implemented. Unlimited does not change the daily score or streak.
